Alisha (Lou's daughter), Lou and I headed to the lake again today! this was the first time i "set the rope".....all went well after a few glitches and we climbed....little did we know we set our rope on a 5.11! a 5.7 is more our speed....but, we had a great time, and i feel very accomplished that we actually did it all on our own! :)because our rope was set on a very difficult climb, a couple let me use their rope....i was able to scamper to the top!

the girls feeling good after our feat!
our destination.....
another wonderful day on the bluff! weather is changing this week, and i really must get some work done....hopefully will get some more climbs in next week!

Ok Kim. Seriously. I'm very happy for you guys getting out there, but when I told Cory you guys are setting your own anchors he threw himself on the phone to Lou (and that happens almost never). He's really worried.

You guys NEED to have someone check your set ups before you climb on them. Are you equalizing all pieces correctly? Are you using stoppers or cams or trees?
Use at least 4 pieces! And a tree, ok?
And don't entirely trust that crazy cheeseman; awesome climber as he is, he's climbed on ropes that pulled into two pieces in a tug-o-war the same afternoon!! He's got a lot of antiquated gear.

Are you checking that the whole formation is not lose? Opposite locked gates on the double biners?
Read "Climbing anchors" by John Long.
And don't lean out over the edge when you set your ropes!

Ok. Wanna see you again, don't make no lethal gumbymistakes up there with my mother in law now!

OK, I was already scared about climbing and then I read Anna's comment that has so much techno talk that I don't even know what it means!

In any case, you look like an awesome climber to me!!!!!!!! And strong.
